In this session Be Better at Finance (for non-financial managers,Julian Hammond, TIPSfor Good Managementwill be your host.

You will begin by understanding the saying: “Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity and cash is king!”
This will naturally move into the use and clarification of financial terminology including Overheads, Return on investment and (ROI), Return on capital employed (ROCE). You will review the Profit & Loss account (P & L) and how this is utilised by management to monitor costs, margins and profit. There will be chance to use a cash-flow control sheet which will be made available as a takeaway for each delegate. The whole session is brought together with an overview of the distribution of finance in a business.

Julian Hammond is the principal of TIPS for Good Management, a personal, team and business improvement service based near Dereham. Julian has delivered training courses all over the UK, the Far East, USA and Europe. His first hand knowledge of ‘Time Management’ techniques comes from over 30 very busy years in front line management roles, including Sales, Production, Human Resources and Project Management.
