This March Norfolk Chamber are set to deliver a special, topical event for Norfolk businesses based around the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will come into force on May 25 2018. We are inviting Norfolk businesses to The Space, Norwich to hear from a variety of GDPR expert speakers from legal, marketing, IT and Data Protection perspectives.
The aim of the morning is to equip businesses with an understanding of what the new regulations entail and what they could mean for the way businesses operate and communicate with their customers.
As the regulations will affect any business holding personal data on customers or employees, it is important Norfolk business members have the opportunity to not let all the information overwhelm them and this event should encapsulate what it all means, and the impact it will have. The expert speakers will outline the key changes the act will have, including the types of data that will need protecting and share insight into ways to ensure compliance and build a strong data protection culture, both externally and internally.
The morning will shed light on the regulations, which may seem vague or sensationalised, and alleviate any concerns surrounding the financial consequences of compliance. Instead the speakers will show how it could mean positive cultural change, offering an opportunity for creativity in communicating with existing and potential customers.
