Climate Change and the Road to Net Zero are one of the top items on most organisations’ agenda.  Yet a recent national survey found that the vast majority of SMEs have yet to put targets in place to reduce their emissions.  As 92% of Norfolk businesses are SMEs, Norfolk Chambers is looking at how we support them on their road to net zero.

More awareness is needed that, the validated programs and services that will enable businesses to get to net zero, exist, but the feet on the ground activity to educate time-strapped SME businesses is currently lacking.

Norfolk Chambers has been developing a Business Climate Leaders programme to support the business community.  We intend to use our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 25 November 9am – 11am, to start the conversation with you, the business community.

The key objective of our Business Climate Leaders is to educate, enable and support SME businesses to seek and apply appropriate, tested actions and activities that will put them on the path to net zero.

This event will pull together a panel of speakers to debate and discuss the practical route to net zero – each speaker is passionate about climate change and sustainability and there will be a chance for you to put your questions to the panel and get the answers you need to start your own net zero journey.

Our 125th Annual General Meeting of the Norfolk Chambers of Commerce will also be included, where we will provide an update on the previous trading year, an overview of our financials and a sneek peek at our plans for the coming year.  The full papers for the AGM are attached below.  Should you have any questions on the financials, please email your questions to the Company Secretary: by close of play on 19 November 2021.
